The construction of our project, KC De Velduil in Houten, has officially started! On behalf of Openbaar Onderwijs Houten and Gemeente Houten, we have designed a multifunctional building. It will be a child center, bringing together a primary school, daycare and sports hall.
The design is strongly connected to its green surroundings, located in a green park. The curved windows and wooden façade create a natural appearance. The integrated nest boxes provide space for birds and stimulates biodiversity. The outdoor space plays an essential role in connecting the building to its environment, inviting play, interaction, and movement.
We are excited for the start of the construction, together with contractor R.A. van Leeuwen, and we look forward to the further development of this project.
